1967-1977The SAM was created in 1967 and is at the service of professionals from Brittany and Loire-Atlantique. The first agency is located in Hennebont in Morbihan.
1977-1987In 1978, the company was bought by La Lyonnaise des Eaux. SAM was structured and expanded its presence with 44 branches in the territory at the end of 1986.
1987-1997The Origny Desvroise Group acquired SAM in 1987, which became Loxam in 1994. The’company has more than 150 branches at the end of 1997.
1997-2007In 1998, the Loxam Group began its operations in Europe with the creation of 2 branches in Switzerland-Romande. In 2001, Loxam became the 1st European equipment rental network with a presence in Switzerland, Belgium, Germany, Great Britain and Ireland.
2007-2016In 2010, the Group s’implants for the first time outside’Europe, in Morocco and 5 years later in Brazil. Now present in 13 countries, Loxam is asserting itself as a major player in the sector.
2017-2024Alors que le Groupe fête ses 50 ans en 2017, Loxam est passé de pionnier au statut de leader européen. En 2017, Loxam acquiert le britannique Lavendon (implanté au Royaume-Uni, en Europe continentale et au Moyen-Orient) et propose le 3ème parc mondial de matériels d’élévation. Loxam poursuit son histoire avec en 2019, l’acquisition de Ramirent, un des principaux groupes de location de matériel dans les pays nordiques et en Europe de l’Est.
